Type of work schedule Flexible schedule – agreed upon. Primarily weekday hours with flexibility around class schedules. Occasional evening hours for special events.

Supervisors support the attainment of professional development by either providing internal department-specific training and/or time reassigned from normally scheduled duties to participate in University-wide training opportunities including appropriate virtual community training opportunities.

Summary of Job Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:– Provide general office support, including answering and routing telephone calls and inquiries, making photocopies, and running errands.
– Explain and clarify information about services available in the Multicultural Center to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
– Perform word processing assignments and other forms of correspondence to alumni, faculty, staff, and public contacts.
– File permanent records of all Multicultural functions, including meeting agendas, minutes, attendance reports, and correspondence.
– Create and maintain a scrapbook of Multicultural event publications, photos, and news articles for record purposes.
– Assist in the coordination and planning of special events, conference and trainings, including contacting and inviting students, solidifying reservations for speakers and volunteers, posting event posters/flyers, and setting up and decorating rooms
– Assist students in learning to operate computers and become familiar with programs/software available in the Multicultural Center
– Maintain and update the calendar of events and other information on the Multicultural Center’s website
– Assist with recording Multicultural Center events, scheduling, and room reservations
– Assist clubs in creating promotional materials and constructing and maintaining web pages as needed
Minimum Qualifications:– Current or following-term undergraduate enrollment of at least 6 credits
– Good academic standing (GPA 2.0 or higher)
– Passing a background check pending employment offer
– Good communication and organizational skills
– Proficiency in basic computer knowledge and academic software
Preferred Qualifications:– Experience in office support roles
– Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
– Experience with event planning and coordination
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:– Strong interpersonal communication skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
– Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
