FWS Summer Bridge/FYE Peer Mentor

Experiential Learning:Mentors gain experience in leadership, communication, event planning, peer mentoring, and intercultural support. The role offers insight into university operations and builds skills that connect to academic success, teaching, student services, and community engagement.
Professional Development:Mentors participate in required training sessions and ongoing planning meetings with staff and faculty. They are introduced to mentoring models and student success strategies while also having the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a practical, supportive environment.
Summary of Job Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:– Welcome and orient new students
– Serve as a peer mentor
– Lead and assist with academic and social activities
– Support class sessions and workshops
– Attend field trips and represent 米博体育
– Collaborate with faculty and staff
– Promote inclusive practices
– Ensure student safety and report concerns
– Participate in all training and planning sessions
Minimum Qualifications:– Must be a current 米博体育 student, enrolled in at least 6 credits for fall
– Familiarity with 米博体育 resources and procedures
– Commitment to peer mentoring
– Ability to collaborate with students, staff, and faculty
Preferred Qualifications:– Sophomore standing or higher
– Prior participation in Summer Bridge or related programs
– Experience working across cultural backgrounds
– Prior leadership roles on campus
– Additional language proficiency
– First Aid/CPR certification
